SALTO Systems has achieved carbon neutrality thanks to its participation in two innovative projects with a triple effect on the economy, society, and nature; as a result, SALTO\u2019s goal was achieved: its activities had no impact on the climate.<\/p>\n

During the pandemic, attention is sharply focused on the importance of environmental, social, and corporate governance. Both projects, in addition to their positive impact on the environment, contribute to the fight against climate change and have a positive effect on local society and the economy, so they not only restore neglected natural spaces and protect biodiversity, but also contribute to the socio-economic growth of local communities.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/em><\/p>\n

Project 1. MDL Forestal Chinchin\u00e1 \u2014 Colombia<\/em><\/p>\n

This forestry project in the Chinchin\u00e1 River basin was the first project registered in the UN Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) program in Colombia, which brings benefits due to the reduction of climate changes by guaranteeing the capture and storage of carbon dioxide. Additional environmental benefits include improving water quality and protecting the region\u2019s flora and fauna by creating biological corridors that connect forest fragments in the upper reaches of the basin.<\/p>\n

Project 2. Apadrina un Olivo \u2014 Teruel, Spain<\/em><\/p>\n

The project\u2019s mission is to restore abandoned olive groves in Oliete, a town in the Teruel region of Spain, whose population has decreased in recent years. Also within the framework of the project: protection of valuable flora and fauna, protection of biodiversity, and reduction of the carbon footprint.<\/p>\n

Thanks to these projects and other strategies developed to decarbonize SALTO\u2019s operations, the company was able to achieve carbon neutrality across all its factories and offices in more than 40 countries.<\/p>\n

\n

AND NOW ABOUT THE NUMBERS:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u25ab\ufe0f100% of the electricity used at the SALTO factory is green and comes from renewable sources.<\/p>\n

\u25ab\ufe0f25% of electrical energy comes from the sun.<\/p>\n

\u25ab\ufe0fSALTO has installed 640 solar panels at its factory, making it the first large-scale solar energy installation in its global network.<\/p>\n

\u25ab\ufe0fIn addition, numerous energy efficiency initiatives were adopted, which reduced carbon emissions through energy conservation, preventing the emission of 198 tons of CO2 per year.<\/p>\n

\u25ab\ufe0fSALTO has also minimized the use of single-use plastic in its packaging and replaced it with more sustainable alternatives, such as biodegradable products made from FSC-certified paper, cellulose, and wood.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udce3The environmental policy implemented by SALTO reduces the impact of their activities on the environment.<\/p>\n
